A new chapter for Memetic

This is a big moment for us.

Over the past few months, we’ve been quietly reshaping Memetic, from our leadership team to our brand, proposition and service offering. Today, we’re sharing that new direction.

Memetic exists to help science and deep tech organisations turn credibility into trust and influence. In a landscape shaped by rapid technological change and AI-mediated information, that mission has never been more important.

A key part of this next phase is introducing Ellie Moran, who joins as Managing Partner and Co-owner.

Ellie joined the business in November and has already led our rebrand and helped sharpen what Memetic stands for. She brings nearly 20 years’ experience in science and innovation communications, including leading April Six Science & Innovation as Managing Director.

Her experience includes working with some of the most impactful organisations in the sector, from Innovate UK and DeepMind to Wellcome and CERN.

Her appointment also brings a proven leadership team back together for the first time in over a decade. Ellie, David and Richard all worked together earlier in their careers, helping to shape specialist science communications in the UK.

Why this matters

The context we’re all operating in has changed.

Science and deep tech are moving faster than ever. At the same time, audiences are more sceptical, misinformation is more pervasive, and increasingly, information is mediated through AI.

That combination raises the bar for communication.

It’s no longer enough to generate visibility. Organisations need to build real understanding and trust, grounded in evidence and delivered consistently over time.

That’s the space Memetic has always operated in. But it’s also why we’ve been evolving.

What’s changing at Memetic

Historically, Memetic has been known for high-quality thought leadership and deep technical storytelling.

That remains at the core of our work, but we’re now building on that to create a more integrated offer, designed to support science and deep tech organisations across the full innovation lifecycle, from shaping narratives and attracting investment, through to building reputation, partnerships and long-term influence.

In practice, that means:

  • a new systematic process specifically designed for the science and deeptech landscape, which converts specialist technical expertise into high-impact communications programmes

  • a broader range of activation services, helping organisations use the content we create across a wide range of channels to build awareness, trust and influence.

  • greater use of technology to support data-driven strategies and delivery that can scale rapidly to meet the demands of sectors that move at breakneck speed

  • and a continued focus on senior-led work, with deep subject-matter expertise at its core

Put simply, we are evolving what we do to make it more modernised, scalable, and better suited to the current landscape, without compromising on quality or rigour.

What happens next

We’re already seeing strong momentum, with expanding client work across areas including AI and public sector innovation, and we’ve got another fantastic senior hire lined-up to join us in the coming months.

There’s a lot more to come as we continue to build this next phase of Memetic. For now, this felt like the right moment to share where we’ve got to, and where we’re heading next.

If you’re thinking about how to communicate complex science or innovation in this changing landscape, we’d welcome a conversation.
