Ellie Moran
Managing Partner
Ellie Moran is a senior leader in science, engineering and innovation communications, with nearly 20 years’ experience helping complex organisations earn trust, influence and commercial impact.
She works at the intersection of research, technology, policy and business, translating technical depth into narratives that stand up to scrutiny and drive real-world outcomes.
Before joining Memetic, Ellie was Managing Director of what was then Europe’s leading science and innovation communications agency, delivering sustained year-on-year growth and leading work for major public, academic and commercial organisations in the UK and internationally.
-
Her experience spans breakthrough moments and long-term reputation building, including communications around DeepMind’s AlphaFold 2 announcement, long-term strategic planning for CERN, and supporting the European Spallation Source to articulate the societal and industrial value of one of the world’s largest scientific infrastructure projects under construction.
Alongside this, Ellie has worked extensively with commercial innovators and engineering-led businesses, supporting growth, category leadership and market adoption. Her experience includes global technology giants such as Hexagon, fast-scaling deep-tech companies such as bit.bio, and complex service-led organisations including Capita. Across these environments, her work has focused on connecting technical credibility to commercial relevance, strengthening stakeholder confidence and supporting long-term valuation.
Ellie has also worked with public-sector innovation bodies and funders including Wellcome Trust and Innovate UK, as well as non-profits such as the Royal Academy of Engineering and Raspberry Pi, supporting everything from funding narratives and policy change to communicating research and securing the next generation of STEM skills.
-
At Memetic, Ellie often leads on narrative strategy, positioning and measurement, with a particular focus on building evidence-led communications systems that scale credibility over time.
She is a regular speaker on communications measurement and evaluation, and an advocate for responsible, trust-building innovation storytelling.
She is also a working mother of two, bringing a pragmatic, outcomes-focused perspective to everything she builds.
